What We Do
The Kentucky Climate Consortium is building a network of experts across the state to support climate research, teaching, and outreach.
Events
Climate Chats
Monthly hour long chats from a wide variety of speakers relating to ideas of climate change and/or sustainability
Annual Business Meetings
Hybrid meetings where members come together to discuss their work, share ideas, and hear from our annual keynote speaker
Kentucky Climate Symposium
A day-long event to bring together students and experts from higher education, government, industry, media, indigenous groups, and communities to share information and resources on climate change.
Grant-Funded Projects
Because of our coal-producing history and our insulation from early climate impacts such as sea-level rise, Kentuckians have a unique perspective on how cultural, economic, and geographical forces have affected our relationships with climate change.
Funded by the Kentucky Oral History Commission, this project collected over 40 interviews from from Kentuckians who have been involved in three climate-related areas: research, policy, and activism.
Interviews from this project are stored at the Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History at the University of Kentucky. The full collection can be accessed here.
Communications
The Kentucky Climate Consortium as we know it today began as a simple Listserv to share announcements, events, publications, and funding opportunities. Today, the Listserv continues to serve as one of the main active points of communication for members.
