University of Kentucky

Assistant Professor, Department of Biology

Dr. Ferguson brings ecological theory and data to bear on applied ecological problems. Of particular interest is understanding how animal populations interact with their environment and the mechanisms that allow populations to persist through time in variable environments. Current projects include synthesizing past work on population forecasts to better understand how data, models, and environmental variability interact to influence forecast quality, and using models to  better understand how population cycles are influenced by environmental fluctuations.
